Well hello there!

I see you’re trying to figure out how you – yes you! – can be a LOWROLLER.

Let me help you out!

So recently I have noticed quite a few new faces joining in to the club, and new names popping up in our Facebook group and Discord. This is SO GOOD! Some would say it’s the GREATER GOOD! HA! However, one thing I do see often is the question of how to actually organise a game.

I’ll be honest. I remember the first time I came along to a Lowrollers club night. This was quite a while ago, and we were at a different location. As much as I put on a brave face I am an introvert at heart – so stepping in to this den of nerds was actually rather daunting.

I have to say I was quite surprised. Like, pleasantly surprised – not just at the lack of BO that you get from a bunch of (lets be honest) slightly less than superbly fit individuals – but at the welcoming nature of so many there. Yes, some had their game faces on but that’s because they were facing a game. That will happen.

The new place is even more welcoming. Big space, lots of tables, terrain available. Awesomeness.

So that brings me back to how to arrange.

1. GET ON DISCORD

Yep, that’s the first bit. If you haven’t joined into our discord, arranging a game gets a bit trickier. How do you do that? Easy. Connect.

We do ask that when you join our discord server that you follow some simple rules with naming – use your first name and last initial (eg., John D) as it makes it a bit easier when rocking up rather than trying to find LadiesMan217.

2. GET INTO THE MATCHMAKING CHANNEL

Once on Discord, you’ll see a channel labelled “thursday-matchmaking”. THIS IS WHERE THE MAGIC HAPPENS. One of our resident tech geniuses and committee members puts out a poll on Tuesdays giving essentially an option of “Looking for a Game” or “I have a game organised”. Or something close to that. Ish.

Just click on the option you want!

Through the magics of internet wizardry, come Wednesday evening (usually) you will be paired up with another person on discord! Amazingness!

3. GAME DAY

Once paired, its then up to you two to organise a time (club opens at 4:30PM and dice down at 10:15PM SHARP), rock up, set up, dice up, pack up and go home with that wonderful dopamine hit of happiness for rolling so badly all night.

Better still – there is an esky full of delightful beverages for you to buy your favourite refreshment as well!

SO now you know how to get in – get in! I’ll see you there!

(In the meantime – here are some more pics from a few of our recent game nights!!)
